Growing girl!

Dear Quinn-
I can't believe that you are almost 1 year old. Over the past week you have changed so much. You are really becoming a big girl! Last week I unexpectedly went back into your room shortly after putting you down for a nap and you was up on your knees with your head hanging over the railing!!! You had never even gotten yourself into a seated position before! So we lowered the crib that night and now every time I go in to get you, you are sitting up waiting for me.

Just as you have since we was a few weeks old, you sleep through the night, every night. I know that can still change but I think that is pretty amazing and a very special gift for a mommy. Thank you Quinn.

You are doing great with food and love everything we give you. You have a great appetite! Doctors always asked me if your sister ate enough and I always said YES! but now I'm not so sure. You haven't turned your nose up at anything. I love that! Another adventurous eater.

You have been enjoying playing with a little boat that we fill with toys for you to empty. Sadly as soon as you take an interest in a toy it becomes a hot commodity in the house, if you catch my drift. Lovie the elephant is your fav but you rarely hold on to him for long. I'm sorry.

The other day I caught you eating dad's pretzels under the bed! You had army-crawled like a madman out of the office, into the bedroom, under the bed to find the bag, dumped them out on the floor and had yourself a little snack.

This was your first Easter. We had a wonderful weekend. On Friday night we went car shopping, which actually wasn't as dreadful as anticipated. Then out for "all you can eat BBQ." You shared the fried catfish with me! We loved it. : )
On Saturday we had an amazing brunch with all of our neighbors. You had fun playing with all the teenage girls who sat in a circle around you lavishing you with much deserved attention. You were in heaven, laughing away and cuddling!

On Sunday we had a big Easter party at our house. Drew and Brookes, Drew's dad and sister, Uncle Trent and Auntie Becca and the kids and Marielle were there. We hunted for eggs. Some people played a sweaty game of soccer in the back yard and we ate a huge Easter feast! Your favorite parts were your first doughnut and Dad's famous scalloped potatoes.

I must also mention that you are starting to stand up for yourself and shriek at your sister when she angers you. I'm sure we will be hearing that for many years to come. You say MAMA and DADA, sometimes even in our general direction. And I think you might be working on "Cheese" which I think would be an awesome first word, for the record.

My almost 1 year old girl, it is going by too fast! I never felt that way with your sister. Every milestone was new and exciting but with you I just want to keep my little baby. But then again, I can't wait to see what you become. I think you are going to be a wonderful person, my sweet little girl!

Love, MAMA
